..just bought a new Inspiron (Dell) 530S for my home office. My old Dell (1998) finally 'expired'. Somehow a couple of nights ago IE7 got installed, wiping out whatever was installed @ the factory..I would guess, IE6.

..so what is the difference between the two (browsers?) & how do I get back to what came w/ the computer in the first place?? I checked programs(in Start) & there is no "uninstall" for IE7 which I thought was strange.

I'm going to stay w/ IE7 for awhile & see how it works, but I may decide to re-install the 'old' browser......

Is there a preferred site or just 'Google' IE?? Thx

..now I'm getting prompted to download IE 8! Any real purpose in doing this?? IE 7 is working fine...

..why is Windows Internet Explorer baraging me w/ 'pop-ups' & how do I get rid of them. I have the 'pop-up' filter on HIGH!!

help!

The way you get Windows IE to quit barraging you with popups, is to use Firefox.

Location: Philly		Internet Explorer is very easy to become infected with spyware which is usually what causes pop up problems.

Here's a good step by step guide (a little outdated but still relevant)

I'd stop after part 2 with spybot. The 3rd part is a little advanced.
