Location: North Texas | I'd be more impressed if it had automatic humidification, but it appears not to. Around my house I don't need temperature regulation, but I do need humidity control. This device appears to provide the opposite. Just my 0.02. |

Who really needs temp control that much in a humi? All my humidors live indoors and it's not like i keep my place at unreasonable temps. |

Location: DC Metro Area | I think its a much better idea to purchase a larger Vinotemp on sale for half the price and convert it yourself. It's easy to run electronic humidification and temperature control on these models. On the big Cuban cigar forums you see a lot of converted Vinotemps. The people with the disposiable income tend to pick up an Aristocrat.
Also, I think temperature control is an important aspect of perfecting cigar storage conditions. Even smallish temperature swings can cause the humidity pockets within your humidor that lead to mold and other issues. On top of this, controlling temperatures protects against beetles and contributes to RH. I know that we've all seen the RH/temperature charts. Since I don't like keeping my A/C set at 65 in the summer, I can see the appeal of the VinoTemp. Personally, I will probably buy an Aristocrat when the funds allow it (hopefully before we move on to the whole children thing).
Just my $.02

Fission or fusion? I've lusted after an Aristocrat myself, but I don't think I'll ever have the disposable income to spend on something like that. My cooler, box and humi with beads do just fine.

I am all coolers + beads right now. My office (it's a small room) has independent A/C and a space heater for maintaining solid temps year round. It works and it doesn't cost me more than a black market liver.
